This is the first year we have had a First Lego League robotics team here at BSAS. We have had a great year exploring robots, coding, problem solving, working together as a team, and so much more. Lessons have been learned, goals achieved, and we have all had personal growth. We are excited and grateful for the opportunity.
Our Robotics team, the Musicbots, were given a unique opportunity to go to Oakwood University, in Alabama, for their very first robotics tournament/competition. The team had no idea what to expect, but they prepared as best as they could and confidently made the drive to Alabama in the Spring of 2019. At the tournament, several other Adventist schools were present. The students had a great time learning new things, watching other teams, making new friends, and experiencing attractions like the NASA museum! They did a great job on their presentation and on accomplishing their missions. After all of their hard work, our Musicbots placed 1st place in their "Core Values" presentation and 2nd place in their project presentation! All of that hard work paid off! They have been invited to go to the finals in Florida this May 2019. Preparations have been made and their presentations have been fine tuned. We are so proud of our Robotics team and their hard work!
We are looking forward to next year and the years to come, as we continue to strengthen our Robotics program here at BSAS.
Grades Pre-K through 4th grade are also involved in Robotics they participate in robotics using our dash robot, dot robot, Ozobots, and the bumble-bee robots. We encourage our students to be problem solvers and independent thinkers. We believe that using robotics in our STEM curriculum is one way to accomplish this goal.
Follow our Facebook page for weekly updates on our robotics trips and all of the other activities we have at BSAS! Contact the school at 479-271-8887 if you would like to donate towards our trip to Florida. We thank you in advance!
