My classroom can be a 3-ring circus! When you are working with 4 different grades and many diverse personalities, you get constant motion! That being said, it is motion with a focus. It is the goal for my classroom to be a welcoming place that accepts and appreciates differences and similarities. We learn together, grow together, fail together and get back up together.
Bible class starts our day and we are blessed to have Pastor Villegas teaching. He has been focusing on the Book of Jonah and digging out lessons that get passed over in everyday life. Prayer has also been a focus and students are journaling and finding new ways to use prayer in their daily lives.
We also have a PE teacher that volunteers to teach this class. Sergio Vasquez comes 4 days a week and rotates through several sports activities to play with skill and sportsmanship.
Our class is also the major part of our Robotics team. We have used our science class to dive deep into ocean studies to help with our Innovation Project in First Lego League. Our team voted in the team name of Point Nemo, because of research done in class!
Teen and pre-teen years can be tough but we try to have hard conversations in a loving, respectful manner. Each student is a respected and valued citizen in our classroom! We want the love of Jesus to shine out of our class as a whole as well as individually from each student.
