My name is Kerry Thall. I teach 1st grade through 4th grade. I have taught at BSAS since August 2020, but I have been teaching since 1990.
My classroom is focused on Jesus and His love. We try to model in our everyday life what He was like and how He lived. Our main “rule” is “Treat others the way we want to be treated.” So whether we are in Math, Lunch, Worship, or Recess, we try to remember that we are His children.
I want my room to be a safe, happy place to come to. I want my kids to know they are loved and want to come to school. I strive each day to make that happen. We laugh and cry together. We pray together. And we learn together.
I know that having 4 grades in one class seems overwhelming and is hard to understand, but it works! The younger kids watch the older kids, and the older kids help the younger ones and behave better because the littles are watching. If you remember the history of education in our country, one-room schools were the norm. We have found it works for us, too.
I focus on the whole child and what each child needs. I group accordingly and teach my heart out so that your child can and will be successful.
